Walk in style with a full-size stroller or travel system for your newborn, or with a stroller for your growing family.

We have added the Nuna TAVO Next Stroller and the Pivot Xplore All-Terrain Stroller to replace those that were out of stock.
As a new parent (or parent-to-be), there are many things on your to-do list, including finding the best stroller for your little one. The right stroller can make your life easier, whether you’re running errands, walking through crowded city streets, or accompanying your child on a walk. We’ve tested over 30 strollers in the last two years, from lightweight strollers that are perfect for a trip to Disneyland, to heavy-duty stroller and car seat combinations. We know it can be difficult to parse it all, especially if you’re not sure what type of stroller you’re looking for in the market, so we’ve done some testing and research to bring you our favorite options.
The Good Housekeeping Institute is constantly testing baby gear to find the best car seats, crib mattresses, baby food, and pretty much any other baby gear you can think of to make parenting easier. To help you find the perfect stroller for your newborn, infant, or growing family, our parenting product experts evaluated different types of strollers, including twin strollers and running strollers, to test mobility, stability, factors such as performance, ease of use and storage space. For this review of the best strollers, we used category experience and real consumer reviews to select our test candidates. These picks are the best in our lab and home tests.
You can find out more about how to choose the perfect stroller for you, what to consider when buying and how we tested it at the end of this guide. Looking for something more specific? Check out our favorites, or.
This stroller is ideal for growing families: newborns can lie down in the carrycot before sitting in the seat, and older children can sit on the plinth attachment. Or you can buy an extra toddler seat that fits both kids. You can also buy a second bassinet if you have newborn twins. You get the idea: it’s easy to set up in a combination that’s right for your family, and if you use it with two seats and a footrest, you can walk three kids at the same time.
You can also turn this stroller into a travel system by purchasing a compatible car seat such as the Mesa. According to our testers, the updated version of this perennial favorite is now even more agile given its large size, thanks to premium tires and excellent suspension capable of handling rough terrain when driving off-road. It also has a roomier seat for toddlers, dedicated rain cover storage, an expandable canopy, and a harness that doesn’t need to be re-threaded, which our lab expert described as a “big benefit” because it makes it easier to adjust the shoulder straps when you’re no need to manually thread the harness through the seatback.
Please note that the stroller itself takes up little space. For a more compact option, try the UPPAbaby MINU stroller. Our lab experts found it to be lightweight (only 14.5 pounds) and perform well on rough terrain. In addition, the stroller can be easily folded with one hand.
The 3DLite Umbrella Stroller is a great choice for everyday activities, travel and toddlers, especially considering the affordable price. Our lab experts love that this stroller is lightweight and easy to fold. In our testing, we found this stroller to be very compact when folded, and the carrying straps can be easily slung over the shoulder if your little one insists on walking and needs to hold his hands.
It lacks the bells and whistles of the larger, newborn-friendly options. The seats don’t lie flat, the canopy doesn’t provide much shade, and the small plastic wheels aren’t good for any rough terrain. However, you may have a problem when you are “tired” of large strollers and just need something small and simple for your little one. It’s an affordable option that’s easy to toss in the trunk of your car between chores.
At just 13 pounds, this stroller is one of the lightest on the market, so no matter your lifting skills, you can handle it on your own. But remember that you can not put heavy objects on the handlebars that can tip the stroller.
The Doona stroller is impressively innovative. It can convert from car seat to stroller in seconds, and our testing in the lab and in the real world has proven it. Not only did our testers report that they made the transition with one hand, but they could easily leave the child in the car seat because it was a smooth process. Simply push the lever on the back of the seat while holding the front wheels with your feet and you can rotate the seat forward until the wheels lock into place like a car seat.
The handle can be retracted with a button on the stem and pushed back by squeezing the sides. Thanks to the 2-in-1 factor, parents save space and money as they don’t need a separate car seat. Our experts have found that you can easily maneuver this travel system stroller with one hand, making it easier to get in and out of taxis, public transport and air travel, especially in the first months of life.
Thule claims the 22-pound Spring stroller is 30 percent lighter than traditional tricycle strollers. It folds compactly and can stand on its own when folded. It can be folded with one hand by pulling the handle under the seat. Despite its more compact size, it can accommodate children up to 65 pounds, which is larger for maximum carrying capacity, so it’s perfect for toddlers and preschoolers.
According to the brand, it meets Disneyland’s size requirements, and these large wheels are great for tackling rough terrain like trails. There’s a wide, adjustable canopy, and the swivel front wheels lock into place if you’re riding long straights. (Otherwise, leave it unlocked so you can navigate the grocery store aisles or crowded sidewalks.) One thing we noticed during testing was that it wasn’t as easy to work with as some of the other options, and the steering wheel adjustment button is located on the Awkward steering wheel position.
Looking for luxury rides that you can enjoy from day one? TAVO Next comes with chic leatherette grips and matching baby bumpers, as well as a reclining seat for newborns. The frame has an elastic suspension that allows the wheels to glide over uneven pavement. Parents will love the magnetic buckle that makes it easy and quick to zip up and re-zip your child. We were impressed with the wide retractable awning that provides shade from the sun while you sleep, and the tall wall-mounted storage basket.
Also impressive: the axles stow away, helping to fold the entire stroller into a neat square for storage or travel. The fabrics are high end and impressive, however we understand that premium materials may not be the first choice for every home. This is a beautiful design, but makes the stroller a more expensive option.
Recently, the Wagon stroller has been gaining popularity, this double stroller combines everything you need for a dream trip. It’s compact, making it perfect for families who travel a lot, and there’s storage underneath so your kids can keep their essentials close at hand. Due to the paddle’s smaller size, it’s like pushing a regular stroller rather than a buggy, making it ideal for steering, turning, and pushing. A footwell separates dirty shoes from two seats and a snack tray.
Speaking of snacking, Rachel Rothman, Good Housekeeping Chief Technology Officer, loves the cup holders (four in total) this stroller offers for both kids and parents! Both seats also come with a canopy, and the all-terrain wheels performed well in our tests. It is important to remember that this van is not actually intended for babies, but for children six months and older.
Our lab experts recommend the Yoyo2 travel stroller because it’s compact and durable. Thanks to IATA (International Air Transport Association) approval, we are also happy to be able to take it on board. The updated version of the city-favorite stroller features a new zip system that is easier to zip and a secure, easier-to-clean faux-leather handlebar. Like the original, it is convenient to carry over the shoulder with a strap. It also features a zippered back pocket for all the essentials you don’t want to accidentally fall out of the storage compartment.
Our experts found this stroller to be impressively manoeuvrable, especially since it has such small wheels. Because it folds so compactly, its compact way of folding makes it a favorite among those who live in big cities. Our testers were also delighted with the ease of use, durability and reliability. However, everything from the bassinet to the footrest is sold separately, which can add to the cost.
There are many things our lab experts like about the Mockingbird, such as the stability and excellent maneuverability that the wide wheelbase provides. Like its predecessor, the Single Stroller, this well-built stroller also features one-handed ease of use, plenty of storage space at the bottom, and affordable accessories including child seat cushions and car seat adapters for just $35 and $45, respectively. Now the updated version can be converted into a double stroller with a second seat kit.
As a direct-to-consumer brand, Mockingbird offers excellent customer service, such as a one-month in-home trial and a lifetime warranty. The Institute for Good Housekeeping awarded the stroller for singles and doubles with the 2022 Parenting Award for its value and smart features.
This is a modular stroller system that will serve you from birth to preschool. In the first months of a newborn’s life, first install the Chicco KeyFit 30 car seat on the frame. Later, you can add a stroller seat and place a car seat on top, or just use the stroller seat. It has parent-friendly details such as a tray with two cup holders and a deep storage compartment, and a kid-friendly snack tray.
Folding with one hand is easy, even when holding the child with the other hand, and when folded, the stroller stands by itself – the push handles never touch the ground. Our experts love this convertible stroller with car seat and it’s great on all surfaces thanks to the tread tires and all-wheel suspension. They also noticed how easy it was to install the car seat in preparation for a trip.
Despite its ultra-compact size, Butterfly is loaded with features. The roomy interior, cushion and footrests make the seat very comfortable, while the expandable canopy protects your little one from the sun. The sturdy storage underneath holds all the treats, toys and everything you might need for your morning walk. With easy-click harnesses, you can fasten your child quickly, and there is also the option to add a car seat with an adapter.
Our test riders liked the compact size, which is great for family travel as the Butterfly fits in the luggage compartment of an airplane. Our engineers were delighted with its maneuverability and praised its ability to overcome all types of terrain. For these useful features, the Good Housekeeping Institute awarded this stroller the 2023 Family Travel Award.
Share the fun of running with your little one with BOB Gear’s Revolution Flex 3.0. This stroller’s suspension is similar to that of a mountain bike, with inflatable tires for a smooth ride over any terrain, and a UPF 50+ canopy to protect your little one from the sun. Lock the front wheels while running and unlock while running errands.
A variety of storage pockets and a large basket help you store your essentials while you’re on the go, while a handlebar phone pocket gives you easy access to your music and contacts. In testing, we particularly liked the adjustable nine-way handlebar, which allows parents of all sizes to maneuver the stroller with ease.
The Donkey 5 is the latest addition to Bugaboo’s high-quality range of strollers that easily converts from single to double stroller – complete with carrycot and toddler seat. Our experts love this brand and its top models like the Donkey 3 Duo and the Ant Baby Stroller. Not only did our testers love the smooth, nimble wheels, but they also commented that the adjustable handlebar is perfect for parents of all sizes.
Among the many improvements over past Donkey strollers, the Donkey 5 has a higher seat, which means you’re even closer to your little one. It also includes an improved bassinet ventilation system with a mesh window allowing babies to see outside while lying down. When not in use, you can close the windows to keep out the wind. We love the design of this stroller for its sturdy construction, easy maneuverability and the ability to grow with the family.
In testing, we found the City Mini to fold easily even with two seats. Each seat offers individually adjustable calf support and a near-flat recline to keep both children comfortable.
Our lab also appreciated the side-by-side design of this twin stroller as it distributes weight better than a twin stroller. The handbrake makes it easy to start and stop the stroller even during a run, and you can buy a variety of accessories to help set up your stroller, from retractable boards to carry a third child to keeping your bugs comfortable with a belly protector. In addition, this stroller is compatible with many child car seats, so you can easily convert it into a travel system. If you are only traveling with a small child, this stroller is also available for one person.
The engineers and parenting experts at the Good Housekeeping Institute have tested dozens of strollers over the past two years in a combination of laboratory and home testing by experts and consumers. We require manufacturers to provide an American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) certification to ensure each stroller meets ASTM safety standards. We then conduct tests to assess maneuverability, ease of pushing and turning, stability, ease of tilting the stroller, ease of getting the child in and out of the stroller, ergonomics for the pushing parent, storage space, etc. To achieve this, we pushed the stroller on varied terrain including sidewalks, grass, mud and cobblestones, and set up an obstacle course to see the effort required to overcome them.
There are many types of strollers on the market, so it is best to buy the one that best suits your lifestyle. Three-wheeled strollers are very stable when moving through crowds, while four-wheeled strollers are more likely to come with extra storage space and cup holders. If you live in the city and travel a lot with your kids, you probably want a stroller that folds easily and stays upright. If you need more storage space in the chassis, you may need a larger, heavier stroller. Here are six stroller models you need to know: ✔️ Full size strollers: Most often, these standard size strollers can be used from birth to a young age. A full size stroller will have more storage space, a seat, a canopy and a bench seat.
✔️ Lightweight stroller: The lightweight stroller, also known as an umbrella or compact stroller, folds like an umbrella. While they’re great for travel, they’re often not as sturdy as full-size strollers and don’t offer as much under-shelf storage.
✔️ Twin Stroller: The twin stroller has two seats and is perfect for twins or two children of the same age. Depending on which stroller system you purchase, the two seats can be set side by side or in tandem.
Jogging Strollers: These strollers are strong enough to let you run around while your baby is safe inside – often thanks to front wheel locks.
✔️ Combo Stroller: These strollers can be easily converted to accommodate more than one child. You can turn the carrycot or seat so that your baby is looking at the person pushing the stroller or at the outside world. They are also usually compatible with car seats.
✔️Travel system (3 in 1 stroller): They come with a baby car seat so they can be used for travel from birth. As a 3-in-1 product, they come with a carrycot, baby seat and car seat. In most cases, the car seat can be easily removed from the stroller base and attached to your vehicle’s car seat base.
Strollers and strollers can cost anywhere from a few hundred dollars to over a thousand dollars, which is why Good Housekeeping Institute experts recommend weighing what features you need in your stroller and what features you can use without value and usability. Our experts recommend considering the following features:
✔️ SAFETY: For safety reasons, it is important to consider the maximum weight and height of the stroller. For example, some strollers can only fit babies up to 30 pounds, while others can fit toddlers up to 65 pounds. It is also important to consider age restrictions: for example, not all strollers are suitable for newborns. It is definitely not worth putting a newborn child in a stroller without a deep reclining back or cradle, because at this age he definitely still needs neck support. If not, you will have to wait four to six months before using it with children who have better neck control.
✔️ JPMA (Children’s Products Manufacturers Association) Certification: Look for strollers with this certification, which means they meet the government’s minimum safety and usage requirements and are tested by an independent third party.
✔️ ADJUSTABLE HANDLE: Whether you are looking for a stroller for tall or short parents, the telescoping handle can be raised and lowered to different heights.
✔️ Reversible Seat: Some strollers allow you to change the seat position from rear-facing to forward-facing. The latter is useful as your children get older so they can be more involved in their environment.
✔️ LARGE PALLET STORAGE: It can conveniently hold everything you need for a child of different sizes.
✔️ Large Canopy: You need a well-designed canopy that is large enough to protect your child from the sun or wind.
