Baby products warn of the danger of pinching after the death of a child in a stroller

       CPSC and stroller manufacturer Baby Trend have issued a joint safety warning for certain models of Baby Trend strollers.
       This warning applies to Sit N’ Stand Double and Ultra strollers whose model numbers begin with “SS76″ or “SS66″ of this brand.
        The joint statement states: “If a child without a passenger climbs onto the outside of the stroller, or when the child is sitting in the front seat of the stroller, the space in front of and behind the pivoting front cover of the stroller could pinch the child. head or neck. The stroller was not securely fastened to the seat using all five points of the harness. Pinching could result in loss of consciousness, serious injury or death.”
        A 14-month-old baby died of suffocation when his neck got stuck in a Baby Trend stroller, according to the CPSC. The council said the baby’s neck was stuck “in the space between the front of the canopy and the armrest of the Baby Trend Sit N’ Stand twin stroller.”
        Another 17-month-old baby was also injured in the Baby Trend stroller, according to the CPSC. The child was stuck “in the space between the back of the headlining tube and the back of the front seat”.
       Council and Baby Trend advise users to “[remove] and [store] the canopy separately when not in use, [do not allow] children to play in pushchairs, and always [ensure] children are in pushchairs with a built-in five-point safety harness “.
